Why it matters in this valley

St. George soil isn't kind to concrete. The ground out here is rocky and expansive, so it swells when it's wet and shrinks when it's dry, and a slab that isn't prepped for that movement will tell on you fast. Add relentless UV, triple digit summer heat, and monsoon storms that dump water all at once, and the base and the drainage matter as much as the pour itself. We build flatwork to handle all of it: solid prep underneath, joints placed to control cracking, and grading that moves the storm water where you want it to go.

Can you match new flatwork to concrete that's already there?

Usually, yes. We can match slab thickness and finish so a new patio or walkway ties into what you've already got. Color is trickier, because existing concrete has faded in the sun for years, so we'll be straight with you about how close a match we can actually get.

Will my new driveway or patio crack?

We won't tell you concrete never cracks, because that isn't true and you shouldn't trust anyone who says it. What we do is control it. Good base prep, the right rebar and thickness, and control joints cut in the right spots mean the slab cracks along the joints where you won't notice, instead of wandering across the surface.

Do you do stamped and colored concrete?

We do. Stamped and colored finishes are a choice you make on top of a properly built slab, not a shortcut around the prep. We'll show you the pattern and color options and pour it so it holds up to the heat and the traffic it's going to see.

Do you only work with builders, or homeowners too?

Both. A lot of our flatwork is the concrete package on a new custom home, working alongside the builder or general contractor. Just as often it's a homeowner who wants a new driveway, RV pad, or patio on a house they already live in. Either way, the free estimate is the place to start.
